The Marriott Courtyard Chelsea is located at 135 West 30th Street. We developed the hotel for the Ariowitsch family, which had owned the 2-story building and site since 1938. The family had been in the business of importing furs from Afghanistan and had plenty of capital but no experience at all in hotel or real estate development business. This hotel has been recognized by Marriott as one of the 10 top Courtyards anywhere in the 600 hotel system. Pictured here is the reception area featuring a 20 foot wide commissioned mosaic by celebrated artist Coral Bourgeois. There are 273 rooms and an attached restaurant leased to an operator.
